The AARON R. MOORE CHARITABLE TRUST (the “Foundation”) is an independent foundation established for the benefit of Aaron R. Moore Jr. For many years, the Foundation's primary focus was higher education without geographic restriction. In addition to its educational objective, the Foundation seeks to sponsor projects and education that enhance information exchange and developed linkages among business, academia, and community. The Foundation's programmatic areas of interest have broadened over the years to include Education, Community, and Music. The Foundation's primary interests within Education include formal K-12 education, literacy, and higher education. The Foundation's interests within Community include a broad range of human services, community improvement, abuse prevention, and youth development/educational enrichment programs. The AARON R. MOORE, JR CHARITABLE TRUST is a organization that is a recognized non-profit entity existing pursuant to 501(a), and 501©(3) of the internal revenue code, as a charitable organization supporting education. The organization engages in activities designed to assist students and schools, primarily but not limited to, the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area, in furtherance of their education goals. These activities consist of providing scholarships to academically qualified but financially disadvantaged students who want to obtain an education or degree.
